Beasts of the Southern Wild

Definitely a movie that visibly strives for importance and, in the first half at least, fails more than it succeeds. The sequence at the hospital/shelter is especially egregious, and I thought the recurring aurochs were pretty superfluous. But I was genuinely very moved by the last scene between Hushpuppy and Wink and still, months later, get physical chills remembering the final shot. And that's not nothing.
