Meaningless dialogue is the order of the day in this highly pretentious film which despite being directed with the post-millennia ‘coldness’ that Cronenberg that was successful in Eastern Promises, it’s a real laborious chore to sit through. Pattinson is perfectly cast and does attempt to carry the film, but it’s the rambling conversations and the preposterous final act that really leave me scratching my head
