About
Argo
Ben Affleck is a director we all learn something from. The way he instills such importance in every face he catches in bustling crowds is mesmerizing. One of my favorite moments in "Argo" lasted little more than two seconds. A little girl crying as her mother is berated by customs officers would be a throwaway in the hands of any other modern director, but Ben gives it purpose, he burns it in our memories without exaggerating it. He is a remarkable humanist and a meticulous craftsman both.
