Kusturica is a lot of fun, as always. Life Is a Miracle has all the elements we've come to expect from him: dazzling color, slapstick, farm animals, brass bands, bawdy humor, plenty of copulation, and war. It's a bit more polished and less intense than his other works, but still a great effort.

Crude and filled with slapstick but also hopefully romantic and mellow-dramatic. It should not work but the charming Bosnian Romeo and Juliet duo won me over even in it’s worst moments and any film that has a scene with crazed businessmen snorting cocaine of a railroad line is worth your time. A war fairytale but sometimes one need a little hope between all the bleakness.

5/10. And I though that Italian films were loud and irritating to watch. The emotional potential of the story is killed by chaos overdose and forced Slavic humour.

Angeekelt bin ich von der besoffenen, testosterongeschwängerten und entintellektualisierten Atmosphäre, in dem die Opfer des Bosnienkrieges und die Frauen eine Statistenrolle bekommen haben. Angesichts des Bosnienkrieges vom Leben als Wunder sprechen zu können, ist pervers und abstoßend. Ein politisch und moralisch sehr bedenklicher Film, der perfekt gemacht zu sein scheint. Er ist selbst zynischer Teil des Krieges.

Trying to translate the titles in German may be understood and/or tolerated upto a point. But at least put it right! Life is not a wound!! And in case the editor is trying to make an irony, this is really a very cheap one.
