An adaptation of Kyoko Nakajima’s best-selling novel, The Little House portrays an extramarital affair through a flashback structure. Haru Kuroki won Berlin’s Silver Bear for Best Actress in her role as the housemaid whose memories propel the story, set mostly in turbulent 1930s-’40s Japan.
