*1/2. I'm sure you can call it a feel good movie if you're sixteen or so but the fact stays that 'You Instead' is pathetically bad. Already forgotten and I think I will offer the DVD to my sister-in-law next Christmas.
For a better music-based mockumentary co-starring Luke Treadaway, try Brothers of the Head. Otherwise if you're simply feeling nostalgic for 1990s style MTV or want a taste of the music fest experience without the smells, ticket prices, gonorrhea, and alcohol poisoning, this will do.
Manages to capture that heady sensory overload that comes with being slightly tipsy at a cold, muddy festival with fantastic music. Yes, premise is more than a little cloying and you know exactly how it will end, but there's just so much to enjoy and take in as you get there.
this film was a lot of fun! i wasn't expecting much but for something that was shot guerilla style during the actual t in the park festival, the cinematography, editing and improv approach to acting was admirable. and luke treadaway has a very nice face.
