[Violet Lucca on Kiyoshi Kurosawa]: (About Daguerrotype) It was the first time Alexis [Kavyrchine, the cinematographer] and I worked together, but we talked a lot beforehand. He watched my work, he knew my work, and I knew the work that he had done. So I was absolutely confident and trusted him completely to bring to the screen what I had in mind. We might have had a language barrier, sure, but I think that on the level of, “What movies do you like” and “What do you like in that movie,” we were completely on the same page.
