“Once, my mama walked into my room at the moment when I was listening to Chopin. She stood there listening, and then compared Chopin’s music with the thuds of falling apples in the autumn. I’m not sure whether it is possible to render better the emotion produced by the music of Chopin. I’ve never heard anything better, anyway. My mama is a simple peasant, but she intuited the rhythm of nature in Chopin’s nocturnes.”
