Our take

A sensorily-attuned coming-of-age debut from Iceland’s Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson, this impressionistic tale of sexual awakening took home Venice’s Queer Lion. Beautifully performed, and in thrall to its unique landscapes, Heartstone is a thrillingly atmospheric ode to friendship and community.
