Our take

Centering on a battle of wits between Vittorio Gassman and Ugo Tognazzi, two giants of Italian cinema, Dino Risi’s acerbic masterpiece is commedia all’italiana at its finest. Juggling polar opposite ideologies, this delicious cat-and-mouse game exposes the turbulent state of politics in 1970s Italy.
