Our take

From Nigel Cole, director of Calendar Girls, comes this spirited crowdpleaser about the female machinists who went on strike at the Ford plant in Dagenham, UK in the late 1960s. With a winning performance from Sally Hawkins, Made in Dagenham balances broad comedy with a keen eye for social politics.
