Court room drama filled with cast members that better directors strive to have. John Grisham's plot feel believable as it tells about how big corporations use private investigators to control jury members to vote on their behalf. It is also refreshing to see that everyone has some "dirty hands". Gene Hackman retired after this one making his final moments in the movie bitter-sweet.
On it's own this film is just unfortunate, but in comparison to the book it's unforgivable. The cynical, interesting characters of the book have become flat, either ridiculously heroic or villainous. Even worse the film ducks the central, controversial issue of the book.
