Jason's rating of the film Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda

I have low expectations in general when it comes to documentaries about artists, as they so regularly depend on the same tired formula. There have been a number of wonderful deviations in recent memory: I am thinking especially of films about Tony Conrad, Chris Burden, Robert Frank, and Elsa Dorfman. CODA is another strong film along these lines. It is structured unconventionally and embodies a philosophy.
