Legendary German auteur Werner Herzog broke onto the international film scene at the age of 26 with his debut feature, Signs of Life. Winning the Silver Bear at Berlin, this story of a soldier going mad in battle laid the foundation for the curiosity and absurdism that would occupy his career.
