Sweet Rush

Instrueret af Andrzej Wajda
Polen, 2009

En lille by i Polen i 1950’erne.

Hvad siger folk?

  • dionysus67's rating of the film Sweet Rush

Wajda's deeply meditative film may not compete for some groundbreaking visual bravura, but it nonetheless accomplishes the goal of fusing with economy of narrative the personal, the autobiographical and the meta-cinematic, rendering viewing an inward but not introverted experience. Effective are the confessional bits in the darkly lit room, while the shots by the river bring to mind his earlier fascination with dusk.

  • FISCHER's rating of the film Sweet Rush

  • Daniel S.'s rating of the film Sweet Rush

An award in Berlin and Fipresci prize of the European Film awards. Fascinating story of an aging actress playing a character in an Andrzej Wajda film. The actress has just lost her husband who died of cancer and she must play the part of a woman who's also just been diagnosed with cancer. So this is a movie with strata that appeals to the audience's intelligence. I feel respected as a spectator. Thank you, Mr. Wajda.

  • Jorge Mourinha's rating of the film Sweet Rush

Thoughtful if very uneven miniature about living with death, echoing both personal and national history while walking a (somewhat loose) tightrope between fiction and non-fiction, art and therapy. Janda, though, is simply wonderful.

  • nica's rating of the film Sweet Rush

That was amazing. My first Wajda film is a fantastic incorporation + improvisation of real life happening during filming. I’m in awe at the end result. Only a fine filmmaker and human would be able to turn out something so healing and cathartic as this.

  • jsbrocka's rating of the film Sweet Rush

The improvised brilliance of this collaboration between Andrzej Wajda and Krystyna Janda sensitively threads the sudden death of someone precious in their lives with the sudden death of a character who lived only in the silver screen. This real-life catharsis captured in a film within a film has a somber elegance as it tackles the ephemeral spirit of life with a restrained intelligence.

  • Dan Kenneth Gigernes's rating of the film Sweet Rush

The shock of losing not only your trusted cinematographer and friend during filming, but also the husband of your leading actress lead to this very different film. A sort-of unfinished (stopped) film mixed with the last memories and thoughts of the wife/actress on screen. All in raw, naked emotion with no camera tricks to show while the (un)finished film is beautiful but unfulfilled like a life that ends too soon.

  • Pok's rating of the film Sweet Rush
