I used to like Films like this when i was in school,The restaurant scene, the old Chevrolet ,the Mexican fellas and the ending of course all that shit was likable to me and Now Dull ,Goodnews is.. I still like that badass Chevrolet for sure
if you never read that Hellblazer comic where Constantine punches the devil and then spends the rest of it panicking and figuring out how to not go to Hell forever, this is a really good adaptation of that story
Denzel Washington shines in a Academy Award winning role about a corrupt cop with his own set of rules, but I hate the film's climax that feel like Hollywood moral police demanding that the anti-hero cop is put to justice. Ethan Hawke tries his best to save this ending by doing his role as sympathetically and good as he can under the circumstances, but I felt he failed.
Here, Washington is in terrific form as one of the best villains in the crime genre and his performance, along with Hawke's, helps elevate this film from being just a normal cop thriller. Unfortunately it has too many cliches to be an original work but for the most part there's a reason why they're cliches, and it works.
I enjoyed this the first time i saw it and its still a great film. Denzel in one of his better roles and Ethan Hawk as a rookie detective. Gritty and corrupt with a soundtrack that complements this hard hitting urban ride along.
great movie with all the style Denzel corrupt , awesome , is a kick in your face in all the movie , really sick , for me one of the best movies of Denzel and , mr Ethan is not the esception sick style , good and bad guys
