Our take

Reducing Yakuza Apocalypse to its “vampires vs. gangsters” elevator pitch wouldn’t do justice to the sheer lunacy of Takashi Miike’s turbo-charged vision. From an opening frenzy of blades and bullets, to the climactic arrival of an infernal frog, Miike delivers a sanguineous epic of pulp delirium.
