The film tells the story of Fido, a saw-playing minstrel imbued with tomfoolery and nonsense, and his sweetheart, Bella, who is both sensible and wise. Having wasted all his earnings at fun fairs, Bella persuades him to mend his ways, and he takes work as a joiner in dog town.
