3.5 stars. Less Blumhouse than 'Murder House' and more unhinged 1950s melodrama. The narrative approach continues to be 'and then x and then x and then x' but it sometimes reaches such ludicrous heights as to almost be transcendent! There's absolutely no regards to good taste nor a sensitive depiction of mental illness... but as a uniquely diagnostic American cultural artifact it is utterly essential!
This is what seems to be every fan's favorite season - and that's not by chance. Asylum brings everything to the table: possessions, zombies, nazis, serial killers, alien abductions - you name it. Lana Banana and the whole crew are giving their best - heart, blood and soul.
