Duncan Gray's rating of the film Interstellar

Christopher Nolan sets out to make a 2001 for the multiplex, which is a noble goal and inherent folly, because in a hard sci-fi epic yearning for gravitas, characters keep having snarky banter with a lovable robot. Nolan is a talent who often lapses into visual/narrative vagueness, but he's one of the few Hollywood mega-directors to reach so far, and in this (muddled) odyssey he creates some of 2014's best moments.
