Lights in the Dusk's rating of the film Interstellar

Suffers from many of the filmmaker's worst traits & yet benefits from his greatest virtues. The film is grounded, ambitious, emotionally affecting & often visually overwhelming; working best as an extended mediation on time that attempts to connect the spirit of Spielberg to the ghost of Tarkvosky. Nolan reaches for something here. He might not grasp it completely, but at least he's reaching. An almost profound work.
