Look for the definitive DVD/Blu-Ray released in France. After having seen 'Lord Jim', I find it pretty unfair to associate Joseph Conrad with Francis Ford Coppola only. In fact, with years passing by, Richard Brooks's adaptation could very well be considered as the best Joseph Conrad adaptation ever filmed. Cinematography by Freddie Young. Masterpiece.
70mm. I have never read the book, but I am quite sure it's not as stereotypical 60s epic as this, where white saviour in exotic location meets beautiful woman and so on. It started out ok, but the action scenes just bored me. 2+
