Wonderful animation Norshteyn has crafted with this short, the title goes beyond anything as presented there but has a real charm to it. I also loved that little wolf - he was so cute yet by himself before caring for the baby in the end.
Even if I'd rather call Totoro the greatest animated film, this and all of Norshteyn's work is imbued with a sense poetry that is completely enrapturing, Whereas Miyazaki seems better at capturing movement, Norshteyn's is the master of texture as all of his characters exude warmth and life better than any other. In addition, all his work should be mandatory if only to behold how he works with fire, water and light.
beautiful in every sense of the word, one of the best films I've ever seen (deffinitly the best on youtube). Seamless animation, breath taking imagery and spacing, and one of the best characters in a short film or period "the little wolf."
Word to the wise. Don't advertise yourself as the best animated film of all time. It's only going to lead to disappointment. For years 'Citizen Kane' suffered from that distinction. Now that 'Vertigo' is in the top position, people can discover the genius of 'Kane' again.
