Was sagen Andere darüber?

  • Edna Sweetlove's rating of the film Verblendung

Intolerably boring, dragged-out, dreary and totally unnecessary remake of the story with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The only scene worth watching is where Rooney Mara gets her kit off to give Dan one. Wow! What a gorgeous keester! That 30 seconds is worth the rental fee and means the film gets 2 stars instead of 1.

  • ig_____or's rating of the film Verblendung

I had by doubts about this. Even with Fincher directing, I wasn't sure if Rooney Mara could match Noomi Rapace's Lisbeth. I guess she did. The US version is not as crude as the Swedish one: it has more style, a better soundtrack, a familiar language... all that makes it more accessible, I would say. I think this was worth doing and hope to see Fincher, Mara and Craig returning along with the rest of the team.

  • Trevor Tillman's rating of the film Verblendung

Seems to be the third in a spiritual trilogy following Zodiac and The Social Network. So much of his cinema is devoted to conveying information through print, photographs, computer screens, etc. Fincher has a real gift of communicating exposition in a way that's energetic and cinematic.

  • Kelley Dong's rating of the film Verblendung

fincher's style is slick as always but the emotional side of the story was not present at all, making what should have been a franchise reflecting the damage inflicted by "men who hate women" (as larsson intended) creepily impersonal and too swift to make an impact

  • HKFanatic's rating of the film Verblendung

My least favorite post-millennial Fincher film (okay, "Panic Room" wasn't too hot either). Fincher is one of the few directors who knows how to make digital look (almost) as good as film, so "Dragon Tattoo" is a pleasure just to sit and watch. But in that respect, the trailer is superior to the movie itself - all that money and care expended on what is a rather basic and poorly structured potboiler mystery.

  • Francisco R.'s rating of the film Verblendung

At this point of his career Fincher shouldn't get any more praise on technical skill alone, we have come to expect that from him time and time again; the question here is whether he enlightens the source material any better than the original does -or does he even bring something new to the table for that matter- and aside from unexpected yet atavistic romantic conceits, there isn't much here besides a great lead.

  • Dave's rating of the film Verblendung

Anyone expecting something at the heights of Zodiac must not understand what a spectacular film that was. Even so, this is another well-crafted film from Fincher, who continues to produce entertaining work, if not all of them reach the same level of greatness. 4/5 for me and will definitely watch again.

  • Seth Farmer's rating of the film Verblendung

I feel like I'm one of the few who really loved this movie. Based on The Social Network and now this, it's clear to me that David Fincher has become fascinated by Generation Y. I see Blomkvist as an avatar for Fincher in this way--almost addicted to the creature that is Lisbeth Salander, but at the same time never truly connecting with her. Fincher is speaking for a generation he isn't even close to being a part of.
