It's always strange to watch a war movie without casualties and meant to be a feel-good film. It just doesn't feel right. So here, I liked a few things like the opening credits, Virna Lisi and the way Stanley Kramer filmed the long lines of people passing the bottles of wine. The rest is forgettable.
7.4/10, "A collective piece of work dazzles, amuses and engages its viewers for its ultimate goodwill and finding optimism to countervail the unpleasantness of its time."

An underrated gem that can't help but put a smile on your face. It flows effortlessly with humor and pathos, keeping you engaged and invested in the characters, with Quinn, Magnani, and Virna Lisi giving some of their finest performances. A personal favorite, and one that deserves to be more widely seen and appreciated.
Absolutely luscious cinematography from the phenomenal Giuseppe Rotunno, and the acting is nothing to scoff at. I didn't get the subplot at all, which forces the overall fanciful tone down a dark and twisted detour.
