Generally non-pornographic movies that originally went out with an X rating in America. Does not include films that received an X when submitted to the MPAA and were then cut to obtain an R before release; nor does it include films that received an X but whose distributor chose to send them out unrated. Many of these films were later re-rated NC-17 (or simply not rated at all) when they surfaced on home video. A few were edited after their initial theatrical release and reissued with an R rating.
