San Francisco International Film Festival: Closing Night, 1957-2019

The San Francisco International Film Festival (SFIFF) was founded in 1957 and is the second-oldest film festival in the United States, behind Columbus and ahead of Ann Arbor, New York, and Chicago (and the oldest west of the Mississippi River). It began during the post-war boom of the 1950s: jet travel was becoming more common, and the New York (baseball) Giants were lured west to San Francisco the same year SFIFF was founded.

NOTE: The Festival was not held in 1982, for reasons unknown (pending further research).
