The undead move underground in George A. Romero’s mordantly tense follow-up to Dawn of the Dead. Shot through with the zombie master’s trademark wit and all-consuming satirical bite, Day of the Dead combines genre-leading gore effects with a provocatively discomfiting vision of humanity.
