Manickam (Mohanlal) is the manservant/best friend of Srikrishnan (Venu). On a trip together, they get saddled with a village performer Karuthambi (Shobhana) and her uncle. Both men fall in love with her, Srikrishnan turns out more intent on having her for himself.
