Our take

Visiting the Yucatán Peninsula’s ancient landscapes, this absorbing documentary—nine years in the making—traces the delicate life cycle of the flamingo. Crafting cinematic spectacle from the hallucinatory strangeness of these alien-seeming creatures, this majestic film finds poignancy in sublimity.
