The film evokes the exile experience of Jewish refugees in Lisbon during and after World War II by associating Blaufuks’s photographs and family films with other archive images, documents, literary texts by writers such as Heinrich Mann, Hans Sahl and Hertha Pauli, Erich Maria Remarque.
