Michka Saäl’s first short is a rumination on displacement. Arriving from North Africa (Saäl was of Tunisian origins), an unnamed narrator explores her new home of Montreal. The shock of the snow and a sense of exile are framed around, and intentionally subvert, Quebec’s motto: Je me souviens.
