Although Cartouche also boasts the services of de Broca, Belmondo, and Technicolor, all three have been brought to naught in this lifeless epic of eighteenth century banditry. Belmondo's mugging, which is put to such good use in [That Man from Rio], is reduced here to little more than a set of mannerisms.
