When her son is arrested by the Turkish police as a suspected guerilla, Berfé and her young granddaughter Jiyan are troubled. He will only be released when his family surrenders his gun. The problem is: he has never possessed one. So the two have no choice but to set off in search of a weapon.

Framed as a parable narrated by three blind Kurdish bards, this beautifully paced road movie portrays the poignant relationship between a resilient woman and her granddaughter. As they search for a way to free their loved ones, they discover many things about the oral traditions of their land.
