In 1953, famous radio journalist Edward R. Murrow begins reporting on Senator McCarthy’s anti-communist witch-hunts on his popular new TV show. As he faces political threats and smear campaigns from other news outlets, Murrow pushes to enlighten the public on McCarthy’s scaremongering tactics.

Our take

George Clooney scored 6 Oscar® nominations—including Best Picture and Best Director—for his second turn behind the camera. A thrilling drama about the early days of television shot in lustrous black-and-white, Good Night, and Good Luck is a riveting dissection of the mechanics of the media machine.
