Synopsis

The portrait of a group of twenty-year-old women during their first year of studies. They are seen through the eyes of one of the group, Agatha, from her life in Barcelona to a trip to Costa Brava, where they will feel their world transform.

Our take

The freshness is palpable in this up-to-the-moment, Catalan-language portrait of Spanish youth, made by four debutante filmmakers. Drifting from intimate sleepovers to spirited club nights, Agata’s Friends welcomes the romantic as well as the professional conundrums of adulthood with open arms.
