Synopsis

This political satire, based on the 1994 novel of the same name by Christopher Buckley, follows the chief spokesman for Big Tobacco as he spins the “benefits” of cigarettes in a time when America began to realize the health hazards stemming from smoking.

Our take

Jason Reitman has become one of Hollywood’s great satirists with critically acclaimed films such as Oscar®-winner Juno, Up in the Air, and Young Adult. Thank You for Smoking is his first, and most sardonic feature, with a brilliant performance from Aaron Eckhart at its center.
