Full of atmosphere, provocation and joie de vivre, the titular Atomic Café acted as both beacon and shelter for those in serious need of fun in Los Angeles’ post-WWII nightlife. Run by an impossibly cool family, it imposed itself as the counter-cultural lighthouse of an epoch.
