As a token of the living forest Kawsak Sacha, the Kichwa indigenous people of Sarayaku decided to take a cedar canoe from their land –the Amazon at the center of Ecuador– to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21, Paris 2015), in an act of reconquest and decolonization.
