Every night, characters wake up in a secret place. They don’t know where they are or how they got there. In search for clues on the walls, in the graffiti, they populate the space with their fears, desires and dreams. In this unusual dream-like decor, the melancholy gradually turns into light.

Melding the cool aesthetics of video games with a warm humanism, this surreal film compares the existential malaise of its living protagonists with the fates of dead avatars. For directors Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel, winning seems a hollow victory—self-fulfillment is to be found elsewhere.
