Martín goes on vacation with his girlfriend to Villa Gesell, an Argentinian beach. Everything seems normal and stable, until his mother’s arrival. Lightning strikes, and soon they need to make a car disappear.

Shot in Argentina, Chilean auteur Dominga Sotomayor’s sophomore featurette Mar started off as a script-less experiment in improvisation. It turned out to be a visually impeccable, light-hearted, yet incisive look at a stagnant relationship shrouded in all its pastel-colored glory.
