A surprise Spanish-language hit at home and abroad, [REC] launched a sea of sequels and remakes, evidently causing quite the sensation on its release. It’s not hard to see why: this found-footage shaky-cam horror, full of doom and dread, is one of the best of its kind, and of the 21st century.
