Isabel Coixet is a Spanish filmmaker and screenwriter, and one of the most prolific directors currently working in the country. Over the past three decades, she has built a body of work spanning nearly 30 films, encompassing a wide range of genres, both original screenplays and literary adaptations, and a remarkable diversity of languages and landscapes.
At the heart of Coixet’s films are often complex female characters—portrayed by acclaimed actors such as Patricia Clarkson, Juliette Binoche, Laia Costa, and Alba Rohrwacher—whose emotional depth and contradictions define her storytelling. She has filmed in countries including Italy, France, the United States, Japan, Northern Ireland, Norway, and Bulgaria. Her films have screened at major festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, San Sebastián, and Tokyo. Today, she is the most awarded female director in the history of the Goya Awards. Her latest feature, Three Goodbyes (2024), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Joining Coixet is Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz, who has lived in France for the past two decades. Her literary career began with the acclaimed debut novel Die, My Love (Matate, amor, 2012), which established her as one of the most singular voices in contemporary Latin American fiction. Harwicz has been recognized with honors such as Argentina’s Konex Award (2024), Germany’s Internationaler Literaturpreis (2019), and was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize (2018).
She is the author of two essay collections and five novels, three of which—Die, My Love, Feebleminded (La débil mental), and Precocious (Precoz)—were published together by Anagrama under the title Trilogía de la pasión. Her work features unpredictable protagonists, often dissatisfied with social conventions and driven by volatile, raw emotions. Through a visceral, poetic style, she has explored taboo subjects such as postpartum depression, incest, and the unsettling edges of desire.
Most recently, her debut novel was adapted for the screen by Scottish director Lynne Ramsay: Die My Love (2025), starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
Together, Coixet and Harwicz reflect on the delicate boundary between an author’s life and their work—and on the creative necessity of stepping away from life itself in order to make art.

Por otro lado, Ariana Harwicz es una escritora argentina radicada en Francia hace dos décadas. Desde allí ha desarrollado una obra literaria que comenzó con la exitosa recepción de su primera novela Matate amor, por la cual ha recibido grandes reconocimientos y nominaciones internacionales como el Premio Konex de Argentina en 2024, el Internationaler Literaturpreis de Alemania en 2019 y ser finalista del Man Booker International en 2018.
Es autora de dos libros de ensayos y cinco novelas, tres de las cuales fueron reunidas por Anagrama en un mismo libro con el título Trilogía de la pasión. En ellas sobresalen protagonistas impredecibles, muchas veces insatisfechas con las normas sociales y de temperamento volátil, así como un lenguaje poético y visceral con el que ha abordado temas como la depresión postparto, la pedofilia y el incesto. Recientemente, su primera novela fue adaptada al cine por la directora escocesa Lynne Ramsay: Die, My Love es protagonizada por Jennifer Lawrence y Robert Pattinson y se estrenó en la Competencia Oficial del Festival de Cannes 2025.
