Martin, a romantic soul who lives in a village in Normandy with his wife and teenage son. When Gemma Bovery (Gemma Arterton) and her husband move into a neighbouring farmhouse, Martin is distracted by her beauty and by the surname she shares with the famous literature character Madame Bovary.
