“I think a lot of my work expresses the surface as something you need to transcend in someway to get at what you want to make contact with. But it is not something that is exclusive to drawing. In working with different media such as drawing, photography and moving image, I like the idea that I am able to activate and access beyond the surface of the paper, image or screen.”
