“When you don't follow your gut, the difference in quality of your movie is so radical. The making of it, even, you get this disconnect where you're working from your head and setting up shots as opposed to when you're viscerally connected you look through the lens and you see the actor and you know exactly what lens to use, what face, what hair. I've learned my lesson. If you can't get actors you're in love with, you don't do the friggin' movie.”
