[IMDb on Yugantar]: Yugantar was founded in 1980 by Deepa Dhanraj, Abha Bhaiya, Navroze Contractor and Meera Rao. Between 1980 and 1983, at a time of radical political upheaval in India, Yungatar, together with existing or emerging women's groups, created four films about exploitative working conditions or discussed trade union strategies. One goal was to expand the discussion and political practice around domestic violence - together with the feminist activism collective Stree Shakhti Sanghatana.
