Very sweet, sensitive film with two wonderful lead performances that have lots of chemistry together. Wasn't enthralled at the beginning, but the film gets better as it moves along culminating in an absolutely stunning end scene. It's honestly very different than I thought it would be, a lot more heartfelt. Sam Mendes should make more films like this instead of crap like Revolutionary Road.
This is a most poetic, beautiful, and simple with astonishing power. After my (guessing) 10th viewing tonight, I think I may have decided it's my all time favorite. This has plenty of haters but those who love it like myself really fall hard for it. In my opinion, Mendes, Eggers, Rudolph, and Krasinski's best career work. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Had a tiring Baumbach feel.(Alexi Murdoch oughta pay royalties to Nick Drake: his songs are literally like Nick's)THE saddest pole dance ever + makes me think twice about ever wanting to have kids. A few things I did love: Maya Rudolph's gorgeous hair; her moving story about her dad and the duct taped-fruit on a fruitless orange tree (tsunami of childhood memories right there) and the way he's always there for her.
OK This is about your life. What you see happens - or has happenned - to you. Nothing great, nothing bad, day by day American family life. Nothing wrong watching this, just a bit boring.
