BAILANDO EN EL POLVO

Azarbaijani emigre Nazar is forced by family and friends to divorce his beloved bride Reyhaneh after rumors suggest that her mother is a prostitute. Soon, Nazar finds himself working double shifts to pay off his wedding debts and provide some restitution to his jilted ex- (for whom he still pines).

Early works from filmmakers who would soon become masters of their craft are always fascinating, and this debut from Asghar Farhadi is no exception. With formal preoccupations still in embryo, Dancing in the Dust finds the Iranian maestro already wrestling with the vagaries of cultural minutiae.
