3.8 Played out in a series of static wide shots, Ichikawa observes the events on the ward from afar, but not once does this style feel cold or voyeuristic. Doctors and nurses check in. Family members come and go. Patients arrive and suddenly disappear leaving empty beds. And so it goes.
